Magnesium Citrate as Laxative

null

Magnesium citrate is one of the laxatives that you will find being used in most places. This is because it increases water retention in the stomach, hence inducing defecation. Though it is commonly known that magnesium citrate is an efficient laxative, it is important to consult your doctor before you take it.
You should not use magnesium citrate as a laxative if you are experiencing, or if you normally experience abdominal pain, vomiting or nausea. Kidney patients should also refrain from taking this laxative. The laxative cannot be used for more than a week, unless directed by a medical practitioner.
